Partially Hydrolysed Polyacrylamide (PHPA)
PHPA is a water-soluble polymer. The interaction between the polymer molecules increases the viscosity of drilling mud proportionately with the molecular weight of the product. PHPA can be used in fresh water or sea water, NaCl and KCl system. PHPA is not compatible with high divalen content in the water and high temperature applications. However, the polymer water-soluble co-increase stability of temperature and rheologi profiles and can be made associative or with protective groups for applications where PHPA will not work.
